Where Speed Meets Governance: How Monocept Builds with AI
AIDLC is the AI-Driven Development Life Cycle behind the Mozart Suite - a stage-gated standard where every stage opens on a verified precondition, closes on demonstrated evidence, and leaves an audit record. Software built at AI speed, held to the standard of software built at review speed.
AI speed, with your control built in
We use AI to build faster. AIDLC, the method we used to build the Mozart Suite, is what makes that speed safe to ship. You approve the plan before code is written. Our systems prove the result after.
Scope, risks and how we'll prove it works, signed off once.
AI builds at full pace. Automated checks reject anything that breaks the agreed rules.
Every test runs, nothing is skipped, and every risk has an owner.
Checked after go-live and traceable back to your requirement.
Reviewing the code is no longer enough
AI changes how reliable the usual quality signals are. So we don't rely on them alone.
At AI speed, the same review covers more code, less thoroughly.
AI-written code can read well and still be wrong.
Tests written with the code share its assumptions, so passing can prove little.
From your requirement to a verified release
Five steps, each closed by a gate. A gate is a verified condition, not a meeting: work moves on only when the step has shown its evidence.
01FRAME
SHAPESet the ground rulesPrinciples agreed, requirements registered
A clear register of what is being built and who owns it
SHAPE
Principles agreed, requirements registered
- Architecture principles agreed with you and published as rules
- Each rule paired with the automated check that enforces it
- Requirements and key design decisions registered, with an ID and a named owner
- Published architecture principles
- Requirement register
- Decision register
02PLANYour key decisionApprove the planSigned off before any code is written
One sign-off, by the person accountable
Signed off before any code is written
- A short plan: what changes, which components are affected, what could go wrong
- How correctness will be proven, agreed up front
- Reviewed in minutes; changing direction here costs a conversation, not a rebuild
- Approved change plan
- Recorded failure modes
- Agreed validation approach
03BUILDBuild inside guardrailsAI-accelerated, rule-checked on every commit
AI speed, without shortcuts in the code
AI-accelerated, rule-checked on every commit
- AI-assisted development at full speed, inside the approved plan
- Automated checks reject rule-breaking code the moment it is committed
- Client-specific behaviour delivered as validated configuration, not custom code
- Automated check results
- Configuration validation report
04PROVE
ASSUREProve it worksEvery test run, every risk owned
Evidence that it works, not just an assurance
ASSURE
Every test run, every risk owned
- Every test layer runs in full; a skipped test counts as a failure
- Each safety check is itself tested to confirm it can still catch a problem
- Security, compliance and resilience reviews; known attack patterns re-tested
- Test results mapped to requirements
- Review findings register
- Accepted risks, each with a named owner
05RELEASERelease and verifyOne automated release, checked live
A verified release, traceable to its requirement
One automated release, checked live
- One automated release procedure, used by engineers and pipeline alike
- After go-live we check availability, exposure and isolation from other clients' data
- Database schema confirmed current in every environment
- Deployment record
- Post-release check results
- Updated requirement-to-release trace

What changes for your team when we build this way.
AI does the heavy lifting inside each step. Every step still has to show its evidence before work moves on.
What gets built, which risks are accepted and when work is complete stay with your people. Routine checks are automated.
Problems are caught at the plan, where fixing them is cheapest, instead of in testing or after release.
Personal data is tokenised before anything reaches an AI model. Each client's data is kept isolated by design.
Every change links to its requirement, its approval, its test evidence and its release record.
Our AI works to standing rules: report failures honestly, state exactly what was checked, and never weaken a check to get a pass.
Two ways to get started
The process is the same either way. Only the starting point differs.
Mozart is built with AIDLC. Choose Mozart and the controls, evidence and traceability come with the platform.
We set up the controls first, so they are in place before the volume arrives.
- Agree the ground rules and open the requirement register
- Put the automated checks in place before the first feature
- Automate release and traceability from the outset
Questions clients ask us
Can't find your answer? We'll walk you through it on a call.
Does this slow delivery down?
Only at the start. The first two weeks run a little slower while the controls are set up. After that, speed grows with volume: the return arrives in week three, not month six.
Where does our team come in?
At the decisions only people should make: approving the plan, accepting any risk, and confirming the work is complete. Everything that can be checked automatically is.
Is our data sent to AI models?
Personal data is not. Sensitive values are tokenised at the system boundary, fields that have not been classified are protected by default, and outbound requests are inspected before they leave.
Can we show this to auditors and regulators?
Yes. For any change you can show which requirement caused it, who approved it, the evidence that it works, and what was deployed and verified.
Does it work with our stack and delivery model?
AIDLC applies to every Monocept engagement, whatever the domain, technology stack or delivery model.
We'll walk your team through a live change, from the first requirement to a verified release.
